Mike Mott

Senior Pastor

Pastor Mike Mott has been the senior pastor of Seminole First Baptist Church since June of 1999. Prior to that, he served for seventeen years as the pastor of the Moultrie Baptist Church in St Augustine, Fl. Raised in Jacksonville, Fl., he has a B.A. degree from Stetson University in Deland, Fl., and M.Div. and M.R.E degrees from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky. 

Marilyn, his wife of thirty-two years, is a public elementary school teacher in Pinellas County. They have two adult children: Brandon who is a CPA in Tallahassee, Fl. and Lauren who is in her first year of graduate school at the University of St. Augustine, where she is studying physical therapy.

Pastor Mike is active in the Suncoast Baptist Association and serves on the board of the Bay Area Pregnancy Center and as the chaplain for the Freedom Square retirement community in Seminole.

Scott Hooker

Associate Pastor of Music and Senior Adults

Scott Hooker began serving as our Associate Pastor of Music and Senior Adults in February, 2005. Before serving at SFBC, Scott was the Minister of Music and Single Adults at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Huntsville, AL for over 13 years. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Bryan College (Dayton, TN) and a Masters of Church Music degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.

Scott and his wife, Joy, were married in 1983. Joy is a legal secretary for an attorney in Clearwater. Scott and Joy have two children, Ben and Sarah. Ben currently lives in Largo and Sarah is currently enrolled as a student at Bryan College, majoring in Communication Studies, with an emphasis in Film and Technology.

When not working, Scott is an avid endurance runner, competing in half-marathon and marathon races around the area and other parts of the country. Look for him on the Pinellas Trail early in the mornings!

Lori Harper

Ministry Assistant to the Pastors and Publications

Lori is a Florida native, born and raised here in Pinellas County. Lori and her husband, Marshall have three children, Chad, Matthew, and Kaitlyn. She came to know the Lord as her personal Savior at the age of 16. Lori has been on several mission trips, and has taught preschool and children’s Sunday School. She has worked with youth programs and is currently serving as the Children’s Director for SFBC. Most of her working career was spent in the financial industry prior to joining the staff of SFBC in November of 2007.

Marvie R. San Antonio

Finance Ministry Assistant

Marvie is our Finance Ministry Assistant and has been on staff since January 2008. With an A.S. Degree in Business Administration, and an A.S. Degree in Information Technology, she is working for a B.S. Degree from the University of South Florida. Her previous work experiences in Hospital Finance, Financial Organization Administration, and Real Estate Appraisal evaluation equips her to meet the church business processes.

Marvie is the 7th child out of ten children and was raised in Santa Barbara County, California where most of her family still resides. She has three children; Lani -a professional staff of Clemson University, S.C. and also pursuing a PhD in Educational Leadership, Kelsey –a student counselor for Valencia Community College, also pursuing a Juris Doctor Degree at Barry University of Law in Orlando, and Bryan, a junior for CAT at Lakewood High School. Marvie moved to Florida where she could enjoy wearing flip flops, feel the warm weather, and wash lighter loads for her family. She has been a resident of Seminole since 1995.

Betty Petsis

Ministry Assistant

Betty was born and raised in Philadelphia, the eighth child of eleven, of immigrant parents from Albania. She accepted Christ at an early age and was active at church, teaching Sunday School and serving on various boards and for many years on the Missions Committee. Betty attended and graduated from a four year evening course at Philadelphia College of Bible (now PCB University). For 34 years prior to moving to Florida she was employed at a Rescue Mission (homeless men’s and women’s shelter) as an Executive Secretary and Director of Children’s Ministry, where she taught Sunday School for many years. Betty volunteered three days a week in our church office prior to her employment in 2005.
